Agincourt Scouts
It starts with Scouts!

2022 Scout Skills Day

Some sixty Scouts from Agincourt and Scarborough enjoyed a day of fun and hopefully educational activities in Thompson Park on what turned out to be the last nice day in November before the snow came. Scouts were introduced to outdoor skills subjects such as fire lighting, map and compass, axes, saws and knives, first aid and knots. A big thank you to all the leaders who helped with organization and subject presentation. You’ll find more photos in our Photo Gallery.

2019 Scout Skills Camp

Scouts from a number of Troops in Agincourt and Scarborough camped in the early snow at Woodland Trails for the annual Scoutcraft Skills Camp. Participants got hands-on experience and training in skills including fire lighting, emergency shelters, maps and orienteering by compass, axes, knives and saws. A camp wide campfire brought all the Scouts together on Saturday evening. Thanks to all the leaders who lead the sessions in Scoutcraft Skills. You'll find more photos in our Photo Gallery.

2019 Area Cuboree

Late in May Packs from across Agincourt sent their Cub Scouts on an adventure to Camp Samac in the wilderness of Oshawa for the annual Area Cuboree. The weather wasn’t particularly cooperative on Saturday but the Cubs did their best to complete all of the indoor crafts and games that the Cuboree team could find. Sunday’s weather was much nicer and the Cubs got outside and a lot more active. Check out the photos in our Photo Gallery.

2019 Area Beaveree

On the first weekend in May (and the first nice day this spring) a pondful of Beaver Scouts from Colonies across the Area slapped their way to the Paddock at Woodland Trails for their annual Beaveree. Scouts from 5th Agincourt and Venturers from 33rd Agincourt helped Colony leaders run the program and serve the snacks. There are lots of photos in our Photo Gallery showing the Beavers having a great time at the games, crafts and snack station.

31st Annual Hike for Hunger

The 31st annual food drive saw youth and leaders from all Sections plus a number of parents participate in a hike around a big block near Milliken Community Centre in the north part of our Area. We returned to the Community Centre for lunch and then delivered our collected food donations – about two tonnes again this year – to the food bank at Agincourt Community Services. There are lots more photos in our Photo Gallery.

2019 Area Kub Kar Rally

Cub Scouts from Agincourt brought their Kub Kars to Malvern Mall for the annual Area Kub Kar Rally. There was some serious competition as the Cubs vied to take home the trophies. In the races, 5th Agincourt prevailed against serious challenges from 2nd Agincourt and 469th Toronto. In the Show Class, Hanna from 163rd Toronto and her Donut Kar were voted the best in class by the participants. Special thanks are given to Stella and her team for another great, fun event. There are lots of photos in our Photo Gallery.

2019 Area Beaver Winteree

Beaver Scouts and their leaders from Colonies in Agincourt plus our adopted friends from 3rd West Hill made the trek to Woodland Trails for the annual Beaver Winteree. The main field was too icy and the ranger thought it safer to move us to one of the campsites, hence the "tabins" in the background in many of the photos. The Beavers had a great afternoon of outside activities. Scouts from 5th Agincourt kept the fire burning and the hot chocolate flowing. Thanks to Kimberly and her team of Colony Scouters for the effort required to organize a successful event. There are lots of photos in our Photo Gallery.

2018 Scout Skills Camp

Scouts from several Troops in Agincourt and Willow Valley braved the cold for the annual Scout Skills Camp at Woodland Trails. All agreed that the frozen ground was actually better than mud. Scouts participated in a variety of sessions in which they learned and practiced a variety of camp skills including map and compass; axes, saws and knives; fire lighting; campsite layout; emergency first aid; knots. Whole camp activities included a camp fire and a special observance of Remembrance Day at 11:00 AM on November 11th. Thanks to camp chief Scouter Walter and his team of volunteers who ran the training sessions. There are lots of photos in our Photo Gallery.

2018 Area Cuboree

Cub Scouts from Packs in Agincourt and Scarborough Areas plus some guest Packs from other Areas enjoyed a great weekend of outdoor activity at Woodland Trails at this year's Cuboree. The weather cooperated and everybody enjoyed the warm spring weather. A theme based on les Voyageurs meant the Cubs learned a bit of history as they played games, solved problems and cooked bannock. Special thanks to Stella and her team of enthusiastic leaders for organizing a great event. Please check out the photos in our Photo Gallery.

2018 Area Kub Kar Rally

Cubs and their Kub Kars from half a dozen Agincourt Area Packs had a fun day of racing at this year's Area Kub Kar Rally. The top twelve finishers will go on in an attempt to defend the trophy in the All Scarborough competition. We give a special thanks to the Malvern Town Centre and McDonalds for their support and sponsorship. There are lots more photos in our Photo Gallery.

2017 Area Cuboree

In spite of some decidedly cool and cloudy weather, Cubs from all across Agincourt spent a fun and active weekend at Woodland Trails at the end of May. They participated in learning sessions on subjects such as fire lighting and ax sharpening and used up some excess energy playing several high energy games. Highlights of the weekend included a visit from an ice cream truck and the traditional Saturday evening campfire. Special thanks to Stella and her team of enthusiastic leaders for organizing a great event. Please check out the photos in our Photo Gallery.

29th Annual Hike for Hunger

Our annual food drive for the benefit of Agincourt Community Services enjoyed a beautiful spring day as we hiked around a loop in northern Agincourt. Youth and leaders from all Sections were joined by a number of parents for our parade. The Toronto Police Auxiliary escorted our parade to help tame the traffic and let us cross intersections safely. At the conclusion of the parade we all enjoyed our lunches and then delivered nearly two tonnes of food to the food bank. Check out the photos in our Photo Gallery. Let’s start planning now to make next year’s 30th anniversary event even bigger and better!

All Scarborough Kub Kar Rally

The 2017 All Scarborough Kub Kar Rally is history! This photo shows the top finishers from both Agincourt and Scarborough Areas. These Cubs had a great afternoon of racing at Malvern Town Centre on March 5. The fastest car was from Scarborough but Agincourt had a deeper field and retained the permanent trophy. There are lots more photos in our Photo Gallery
